I’m excited to share my new line of jewelry with you - AVF by Alicia Van Fleteren.   Personal, heartfelt, and inspirational jewelry for your mind, body and soul.  My goal was to design an affordable line of meaningful jewelry that inspires positivity, empowerment, and inner peace within you.  Each piece was carefully designed and crafted with a little message in mind to help us think outside the box.  Dream big, love life, and be free. 

    

The exhibit was lovely.  There were so many beautiful arrangements.  Some of the displays were quite literal in their translations, while others were very abstract, but I could see the symbolism.  The color and texture combinations were awesome.  I was also inspired by the various use of forms, lines, shape, size, and movement used in each piece.  There are so many creative individuals in the world!

Below are some of my favorite designs from the show.  The original work is in the background for each piece, so you can see how the florist translated each work of art into their own design.


Two Bathers by David Park

I love the bathing suits!  They looked like fancy, colorful corset dresses to me.  Very Dolce & Gabbana.  The bright red, orange, and deep purple colors appealed to me, as well as, the wonderful textures in this piece.  



Carrion by Cleve Gray

Although the subject matter of this piece was a bit dark, I found the floral display to be a great interpretation.  The dark wood representing the ravens and the bright red colors depicting the 'feast' below was very vibrant and had great contrast at the same time.  I felt like the birds were actually flying overhead when looking at this piece.


Portrait of a Woman by Louise Beatrice de Fonblanque

The photo is two toned; however, the florist interpreted this by using purple and green in the design (which are two of my favorite color combinations).  I love fashion, so creating a hat out of foliage was very appealing and creative to me.  I also liked the fluidity and texture of the arrangement.    


Three Machines by Wayne Thiebaud

This piece was  simple, yet very happy to me.  I really liked use of colors and texture.  Plus I love candy!


Mother and Daughter by ...

This was probably one of my favorite pieces.  It is depiction of mother and daughter standing next to each other.  The photo was taken during the Great Depression.  This sweet arrangement evoked fond memories of my own mother and loving relationship with her, which is why I was so drawn to it.



Yellow Lampshade by...

The lamp just evoked a feeling about the design and style of the 60s.   Simple, chic, conservative, yet there was a little bit of pizzaz.
