It's a new year...time to start cleaning!Monday, January 11, 2010
Looking back at stones I’ve collected through the years is like going through a time warp. As I look at different beads I’m thinking...Where did I buy these? What was I doing at the time? What style of jewelry was I into designing? What the heck was I thinking????!
One of the things we’re definitely working on here is recycling. I’ve amassed a mound of metal scraps: silver, gold, gold vermeil, gold filled. What to do with these things? Well, I found a great recycling program for jewelers that will not only help me to clear out my studio, but more importantly, cut down on further mining operations. There are currently enough mined precious metals in circulation to last for decades.
Project Organization 2010 is not nearly completed yet, so I better get back to it. Happy New Year to all!!!
Goodbye 2009...Hello new decade!Thursday, December 31, 2009
As 2009 comes to an end my thoughts drift to family, friends, many fabulous adventures, and the road ahead. With all the ups and downs, I’m fortunate to be able to continue this journey that started 8 years. How far we’ve come since our small and humble beginnings in a cramped and cluttered loft so many years ago.
As I look to the Spring 2010 collection, I’m still feeling delicate, feminine, LAYERS, gold, silver, gold and silver combined, and juicy colorful gemstones reflecting the brilliance of the new season. It’s still about versatility - being able to wear one piece different ways, with different outfits, long or short, and being able to dress things up or down, and creating different looks.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the past year.
Be happy, healthy, safe, and joyful in 2010.
